Orhan Ayyuce is a licensed architect in California and member of AIA. He also maintains an independent practice.
Orhan Ayyuce has taught architecture and urban design at California Polytechnic University, Pomona and Woodbury University in Burbank in all levels of undergraduate school to graduate school. Additionally, he teaches urbanism and architecture at Escuela Libre de Arquitectura in Tijuana, Mexico. Professor Ayyüce is a recognized name in architectural schools and a well-known design critic in Southern California and beyond.
Professor Ayyüce is a senior editor for Archinect and also writes for other domestic and international publications. His writing is translated to many languages in Europe, Asia and Middle East. He writes articles and interviews about architecture, urbanism, people, politics, arts and culture.
His associations include: Member of the Board of Directors, Los Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design, LA Forum; Member of the Board of Directors for Society for Moving Images about the Built Environment, SMIBE; Member of Editorial Board, Architects for Peace; Editorial contributor, Arkitera. He was invited and participated in theInternational Architecture Biennale Rotterdam and Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism/Architecture. His work includes an honorable Mention for Istanbul Community Market Ideas Competition and various residential and small scale commercial projects.
Professor Ayyüce was the recipient of the “Most Inspiring Instructor” award from Cal Poly Pomona students, AIAS, in 2010.
